Why are there no MDs or DOs in this list?

    • Brain Health Book September 23, 2014 at 9:53 pm

There just haven’t been very many who attend the seminars or learn the material well enough to use it.

  • Loretta September 24, 2014 at 2:32 pm

Some to add to your list:
    Stephen M. Reisman, M.D., Nashville, TN (www.mindbodymedicalcenter.com)
    Alan Christianson, MD, Scottsdale, AZ
    (www.integrativehealthcare.com)
    Mark Ryan, L.Ac. (www.healinghashimotos.com)
    Datis Kharrazian, DC (www.functionalmedicine.org)
    Richard Hagmeyer, DC, Naperville, IL
    (www.drhagmeyer.com)
There are also a few in Atlanta, GA

    • Shawn October 13, 2014 at 4:36 pm

Would you please share the names of those who are in Atlanta, GA?

    • Donald November 9, 2014 at 2:50 am

Yes, please list the Atlanta practitioners for us!!

  • Natcha September 24, 2014 at 9:46 pm

How does someone go about attending your seminar? I have been wanting to learn from you but can’t find this information anywhere.

  • Baabi October 25, 2014 at 3:08 pm

I am reading your book on ‘…my brain…’ and really value the information.
I live in Ottawa, Ontario, in Canada. Do you have partners or know of any doctors or otherwise close to here who would be able to provide such information/services?
    Thanks.

Dear Dr Kharrazian, I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and I am wanting to find a practitioner to assist me with further testing. I have two children which I’m also concerned about. I’m Australian but live in Singapore. Can you recommend any like-minded practitioners in either Singapore or Australia? With kind regards.

I am also looking for a doctor in Australia who has an understanding I’d Dr Kharrasin’s teaching. I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Recently found high levels of strep in my system (stool test and blood tests) also found to have SIBO. The functional doctors I have seen try to kill off the strep, and my psoriasis goes crazy, uncontrollable and it covers my entire body and scalp, eventually getting to my joints. I am on iMmune suppressive medication and when they prescribe something to kill the strep, not even the medication can keep my psoriasis under control. When I stop the herbs my psoriasis calms down a bit. I have been gluten free for over a year, diary free for 6 months and I see no improvements. I’m really frustrated as whatever natural remedies I try, actually makes me worse… I did persist for 3 months until I cannot going on any more, my hair began to thin and I started to have diaeria. And general feel really bad, weak and tired.

I’m doing some of my own research now, but it’s difficult to find doctors who can work with you.

Hope you can suggest someone in Australia

      • Mike May 13, 2015 at 11:05 pm

        Hi Lena,

My Wife is going through a lot at the moment as well and looking far and wide as all the the GP’s do not appear to understand.

1 lead that sounds good she is pursuing at the moment is FMT with http://www.cdd.com.au/

I am no expert or doctor but it might just be something to look into

        All the best

Any plans for “Why Isn’t My Brain Working” going to Audio in the near future? That would be great.

    • Brain Health Book December 3, 2014 at 4:28 pm

The audiobook has just become available!

      • Jason Turuc June 12, 2016 at 5:11 pm

I have the audio book and was listening, I heard him mention a doctor in Chicago I can’t seem to find that spot in the book. Could you please provide me the name(s) of doctors in Chicago?
        Thanks in advance

        • Susan (admin) June 16, 2016 at 1:43 am

Jason; Sorry, but at this point, the only practitioners he is recommending are on this list. It’s possible one dropped off the list after the book was written, due to a change in their location or how they do their practice. Sorry to not have more information for you. However, you might try going on one of the larger Hashimoto’s groups on facebook and asking for a local referral. Lots of people on those groups create referral lists, and you might have some luck there. I’d start with Hashimoto’s 411. Good luck!

Are there any practitioners in (or near) Birmingham, AL?

  • Beth January 1, 2015 at 7:52 pm

I would like to know if there are any like minded practitioners in Western North Carolina? There were a few case studies in the book with practitioners from Durham and Chapel Hill, NC., but they are not cited in the above list. A list of practitioners that have studied under Dr kharrazian would be an excellent appendix to the book!

  • Tony Ward January 9, 2015 at 10:37 am

Are there any known brain function practitioners in the UK who have had Dr Kharrazian’s training?

    • Susan (moderator) January 10, 2016 at 9:07 pm

At this point in time, we aren’t able to recommend practitioners outside the U.S. It has to do mainly with the fact that not many from outside the U.S. have come to train in the protocols. In 2016 Dr. Kharrazian and Dr. Brandon Brock are launching a 3-year practitioner training program in Functional Neurology – there is worldwide interest, and we look forward to seeing the numbers of FN and Functional Medicine practitioners grow.

      • Belinda June 15, 2016 at 6:51 am

Hi Susan, has the 3 year practitioner program started? I am a chiro in Australia interested to study more with the FN and FM and I love Dr. K’s work. I did the one to one last year and am just wondering where to start?

        • Susan (admin) June 16, 2016 at 1:48 am

Belinda; Yes, the program started in February. Here’s the website: (https://functionalneurologyseminars.com/). Each module is enrolled separately. If you have questions, please email via the contact page on that website.

  • Tracy Konoske MS RD February 12, 2015 at 3:34 pm

I am an IFM nutritionist. Reading and re reading the book. I’d love to have a PDF type document that we can provide for patients to fill out so we can at least do some assessment of degeneration. I realize I have not been to any of Datis’s trainings but he is SO passionate about us recognizing and treating this aspect. Then we can easily hone in on the right chapters in the book since it is 1000 pages and is overwhelming for the brain-degenerated patient. Thanks.

    • Susan (moderator) January 10, 2016 at 9:05 pm

Tracy – Sorry we missed your comment, but I wanted to reply in the hopes it reaches you. If you email us via the contact form, I can try to help you with this. No need to address it specifically to me; it will get routed to me.

Looking for a Dr in the CT area

  • lynne March 11, 2015 at 12:25 am

There used to be a couple of practitioners in Virginia on the list. What happened to them? I really need to find someone in my area after 15 years of (gut-related) chronic health challenges.
    Thanks.

    • Susan (moderator) January 10, 2016 at 9:01 pm

Hi Lynne – I am not certain, but it may be they decided to change the scope of their practice to other areas. You might contact the one on the list who is closest to you – some of them are willing to practice remotely.

  • Elizabeth March 12, 2015 at 3:26 pm

Could you provide a list of tests that someone should request to assess declining brain function? Can these tests be administered by a regular neurologist? or, do they need to be a holistic neurologist or func medicine doctor?

Can you recommend any practioners that can adminster these tests in the Northeast United States (preferably Boston)?

    Thanks!

    • Usha Gajjar September 15, 2015 at 12:24 pm

I am in Westboro MA Looking for good practioner.

I was born with Intestinal Malrotation – have had chronic health issues for over 20 yrs – just discovered the Malrotation at age 55. Had Ladd’s Surgery a year ago thinking it was the solution. Now it is almost impossible to eat/pass waste in any sort of normal way – colorectal surgeon has diagnosed me as having “Colonic Inertia” – had all other muscle testing done – stomach works, intestines work, rectal muscles work, etc. Had Sitzmark test for colon -ingested 24 radioactive markers – 5 days later 22 were still in colon, and not at bottom. I’ve been told everything works fine until it gets to my colon. Use Lactulose, coffee and pray. No regular BMs. Can your method of Brain to Gut therapy help me? My next step is a surgical consult at The Cleveland Clinic. Don’t know what else to do. Am a member of a private FB group with hundreds of adults who were born with Intestinal Malrotation, all having same symptoms. No BMs, Distended belly, pain & discomfort. Can you help? Every day is a challenge.

Fantastic! Thank you so very much for your commitment Dr K.
I too am in Australia (Sydney) and am looking for a practitioner here. I have tried the preiffer protocol with no benefit…in fact I felt worse over the 2 year treatment. While I eat a vegetarian diet with eggs and white fish, I still cannot tolerate any Amines at all. They have a severe effect on my mood, energy, balance, heart beat and cause vestibular migraines. I would like to undertake many of the tests you use with your patients. Are these tests available in Australia?

Are there any affiliates newly located in Las Vegas?

    • Susan (moderator) January 10, 2016 at 8:47 pm

Gary – At this point in time, these are the only practitioners he is able to list – they are the most highly trained, and lecture for him. We hope the list will grow soon, with the launch of the Functional Neurology Seminars program (it’s a 3-year training program for practitioners).

Are there any Australian practitioners trained in this. I have a lot of the symptoms and nothing else is working. If not can overseas people get treatment

  • Sharon January 10, 2016 at 5:15 am

Are there any practioners in either CT or RI?

  • Susan (moderator) January 10, 2016 at 8:59 pm

Sharon – The practitioners on this page are those who are most highly trained in the protocols advocated by Dr. Kharrazian, and they lecture for him as well. Some may be willing to practice remotely; you’d need to contact them to find out. There are other practitioners who have taken some classes from Dr. K, but this page contains the most highly trained. Over time, we would love to add names to this page!

Disclaimer: Dr. Kharrazian is not able to make representation as to the quality or scope of a member’s medical practice, or as to how closely the practitioner adheres to the principles and practices advocated by Dr. Kharrazian.
